Abstract
National energy and climate policies are becoming increasingly entwined. Energy security is an acknowledged and important factor in the domestic economic and energy policies of many states. The threat of global warming is forcing countries to consider rapid changes in their patterns of energy supply and consumption in order to reduce their contribution to global greenhouse emissions.
